Nov 22nd 2014 #DropTTIP BANNER CAMPAIGN GAINS MOMENTUM IN BRIGHTON

Banner-03-Brighton

Part of the London contribution for the October 11th 2014 Europe Day of Action included a rally in Parliament Square with many speakers and a banner drop. Banner-01About 10 of us made the biggest banner we had made in our lives. It is 26m long and 2m high. Each letter is 1.2m high. The phrase divided into three sections interchangeably read  #noTTIP HANDS OFF DEMOCRACY and HANDS OFF DEMOCRACY #noTTIP on that day as seen in the images.

Brighton

The Brighton crew of Global Justice Now utilised the banner to raise awareness in Brighton by displaying it off the Brighton Pier.

We then thought “wouldn’t it be great to drop the banner all over the UK!

…and the #DropTTIP Banner Campaign UK was born!

Edinburgh

We then took the banner to Edinburgh where an impromptu crew was assembled with the help of local groups including Global Justice Now, Friends of the Earth, Radical Independence Movement and the Green Party.  We had a great day with an enthisiastic and fun crowd  and we ended up dropping the banner in 4 separate locations!

The Castle Esplanade
